Sustainable Apparel Monetization Toolkit
Back to Full List of Strategies
The goal of our Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI™) collaborations is ultimately to develop tools that companies can use to explore how these benefits might accrue to their own organizations. Below please find a set of tools we’ve constructed as part of our research collaboration. We propose the types of data a company might gather and the internal functional teams that may be called upon to assist with data aggregation.
Energy Management
Drawing on our case collaboration with EILEEN FISHER on the financial and societal benefits of shifting transportation modes, this tool will help to quantify the relevant data components. Key data points may include transportation mix (e.g. % air, sea, trucking), unit cost per transportation mode, and carbon emissions generated per transportation mode.
Key functional areas to engage may include the shipping & supply chain logistics team, environmental team, and, if applicable, centralized sustainability team.

Key functional areas may include the human resources team and, if applicable, centralized sustainability team.

Circularity & Innovation - Resale Programs
Drawing on our case collaborations with EILEEN FISHER and Reformation to determine the incremental value of circular programs (including either in-house resale or partnership programs), these tools will help to monetize relevant benefits from such programs. Key data points may include circular program profit, marketing & media costs, customer acquisition costs, and data related to the customer overlap between the parent company and circular program.
Key functional areas may include the circular program team, PR / media team, customer data team, shipping & supply chain logistics team, and, if applicable, centralized sustainability team.
