NYU Stern CSB Director, Tensie Whelan was featured in Invest for Good's article, "The Case for Sustainable Business." She speaks to CSB's Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) methodology, which allows companies to monetize benefits accrued by integrating sustainability in their supply chains. Some of these benefits include increased employee engagement, operational efficiency, and supplier loyalty.
Whelan pushes for long-term value creation that can be accomplished by transitioning from shareholder capitalism to stakeholder capitalism. With the rise of conscious consumers, ROSI offers a mechansim by which companies can track what has up until this point been regarded an "intangible" value.
