MBA Fellow Developing a Five-year Roadmap for ESG Reporting & Disclosure Strategy for Tory Burch
During the summer of 2024, Aaroshi Sahgal (MBA '25) interned as an NYU Stern MBA Sustainability Fellow at Tory Burch. Read on to learn more about her time there:
Name: Aaroshi Sahgal
Year: 2025
I was fortunate to intern on the Sustainability team at Tory Burch this summer and was reporting directly to the Global Head of ESG Strategy, a fellow Stern alumna. My central project focused on developing a five-year roadmap illustrating how Tory Burch should shape its ESG reporting & disclosure strategy. This project was informed, in part, by a deep-dive into the company’s current programmatic and disclosure efforts, domestic and international regulatory developments (EU CSRD, CA climate legislation, and beyond), as well as investor-focused reporting initiatives. At the end of the internship, I presented my key findings and recommendations to the broader Sustainability and Legal teams.
Throughout the summer, I learned so much about the multilayered ESG regulatory landscape and gained deep insight into the tangible challenges and opportunities that a large, privately held company like Tory Burch must grapple with as the ESG space continues evolving. I’m so grateful for this experience, which has certainly been an invaluable part of my time at Stern!
