Tensie Whelan, Director of the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, spoke at the Second Annual Sustainability Investment Leadership Conference on May 17 at the New York City Bar Association in NYC. The conference is co-sponsored by the Foundation for Accounting Education of the New York State Society of CPAs and The New York Hedge Fund Roundtable. Director Whelan spoke in the supply chain panel about her experience working with businesses to embed sustainable practices throughout the levels of supply chains. "There’s a very high correlation between a strong ESG performance and strong operational performance, strong stock performance and lower cost of capital,” said Whelan.
