MBA Student Featured in Poets & Quants Article on Climate CAP Conference
—
Each year, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business hosts the Climate CAP Conference which brings together MBA students and executives to discuss the intersection of climate, capital, and business. Elizabeth John (MBA ‘20) was selected on behalf of NYU Stern to help plan and participate in the conference in late February. She was recently interviewed by Poets and Quants on her outlook on the conference and the issues that will be discussed.
On the rise of sustainability within the MBA community, Liz says, “Anecdotally, I’ve sensed a lot of interest even from folks who are not necessarily recruiting for sustainability or environmentally focused positions. I think people realize this is something that touches every part of business. So I would say there is a wide interest and whenever I talk about what I’m looking into, other people seem very interested. I don’t know how that compares to maybe several years ago. I know the (NYU Stern) Center for Sustainable Business is becoming even more present and important and getting a lot of features. So I imagine that’s becoming more and more of a driver for students at other schools too.”
