Name: Dorea Novaez
Program and Year: Stern MBA 2020
Specializations: Business Analytics and Marketing
"I first heard about the Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) when Randi Kronthal-Sacco was a guest speaker in my Data-Driven Decision-Making class. I found it fascinating research and Randi’s passion was palpable. The next day I reached out about the opportunity to get involved. Over the next year, my involvement with CSB and IRI became one of the most valuable experiences of my time at Stern. Not only was I learning from top industry veterans, but I was making a strong business case for continued sustainable product development.
My research focus was on the role pricing plays in the growth of sustainably marketed CPG products. Originally, we hypothesized categories with a larger price gap would see slower growth, but this was not the case. In fact, our research demonstrated that CPG companies can price at a premium without sacrificing volume, further underlining that sustainable business is good business.
Throughout the research process, I had the opportunity to present my work in a number of touchpoints with senior leaders at IRI. This partnership played an integral role in helping me secure a full-time position with IRI as a Client Insights Consultant supporting Unilever. I am beyond thrilled to continue working with IRI insights for a client committed to purpose-led and sustainable business practices."
On working with Dorea, Randi Kronthal-Sacco reflected: "Dorea is incredibly inquisitive and smart. She added immense value to the project and so impressed IRI - I am thrilled that she was offered and accepted a full-time role supporting the Unilever business."
