What class/professor has made the deepest impression on you?

Coaching for Impact with Professor Lennard. You will learn about the most effective ways to communicate with people and get your point across. Highly recommended for anyone interested in establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships with those around you!

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Take risks and step outside of your comfort zone during business school – it will truly make you a happier and more fulfilled person in the long run.

What surprised you the most about Stern?

As I reflect on my first semester at Stern, I am pleasantly surprised by how much I have gotten to know myself better as a working professional as well as an individual. I finally feel like I am able to lay out a vision board for myself - what I care about, things I want to achieve, and how I should go about achieving them. I now have a greater appreciation of Stern’s core value of EQ and the emphasis on self-awareness, empathy, and communication. Also, I'm surprised by how quickly the first semester flew by.

What club or organization are you most proud of being a part of?

GFA (Graduate Finance Association) has been an integral part of my Stern experience. During the investment banking recruiting process, I received tremendous support from the MBA2s (second-year MBA students) who went through the same process last year, and formed deep and meaningful relationships with my classmates. The process was long and intense, but I never felt alone because of this amazing community. Some of my closest friends at Stern now are the people I met through GFA as well. I very much look forward to giving back to this community during my second year by helping my fellow Sternies navigate their career search.

How has being located in the heart of NYC set you up for professional success?

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to go to business school in New York City. Being a 20-minute subway ride away from some of my dream companies, I was able to stop by the headquarters before/after classes and grab coffee with the Stern alums there. The location provided me with immense opportunities to experience the culture of different industries/companies as I discovered my professional interests.

What Experiential Learning opportunity has been your favorite and why?

West Coast Trek with Stern Technology Association! We visited companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley in all kinds of tech sectors –- Google, LinkedIn, Visa, and Lumentum, to name a few. I had so much fun learning about each company's culture and seeing what life is like in the Bay Area (and picnicking in Francisco Park!).
