What moment made you realize Stern was the home for you?

I first realized that Stern was home for me during the prospective student process. Like many students who are going through this process, I was indecisive and nervous about making such a big decision. However, I realized Stern was right for me after going to a fall prospective student event and Preview Admitted Students Weekend. Whether I was talking to other prospective students or current students, I felt welcomed and clicked with the culture. My favorite thing about Stern has always been the Stern community and it’s what made me realize that Stern was home for me.

What advice would you give your first semester self?

During the first semester, I had a "say yes to everything" mindset which was super helpful for me to break out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and try new things during this new experience of business school However, as all first years experience, the first semester of business school is overwhelming because there are so many events, recruiting kicks off, and everything is just so exciting! If I could go back in time, the advice I would give my first semester self is that sometimes you need to protect your peace. There will always be another happy hour - or you can go to the happy hour and just leave early!

What club or organization are you most proud of being a part of?

I'm proud to be a part of Student Government! My favorite part of this organization is that it is a student-run organization that creates and hosts events to support the student experience. I love that so many of the events are either traditions or new events thought of by our current student body.

What Experiential Learning opportunity has been your favorite and why?

This year, I did a Stern Signature Project (SSP) in India! The objective of this project was to explore how artisans in India can establish market linkages and provide recommendations for how a community can promote entrepreneurship and new businesses. This was a really exciting experience to get exposure to social entrepreneurship and also travel to India! We traveled in January and over the course of 10 days we met amazing artisans in Kutch, visited the growing community in Kapadwanj, and conducted market visits in Mumbai.

How would you describe the Stern community?

The Stern community is truly my favorite part of Stern! I would describe it as friendly and welcoming - everyone can find their niche here. In addition, my favorite part of the Stern community is that they truly make space for you to be your authentic self, like MC-ing the talent show in matching tracksuits with your Co-President (:
