Celebrating the NYU Stern Community in Mumbai

NYU Stern alumni, undergraduate students, parents, and faculty joined Geeta Menon, dean of the undergraduate college and Rohit Deo, vice dean of undergraduate academic affairs and strategic planning at Stern, for a celebration of the vibrant Stern community in India. The event, held at The Taj Mahal Palace, was a great opportunity to bring the Stern community together.

Dean Menon shared School news and Stern pride points -- including being one of the most competitive undergraduate colleges in the world -- and spoke about the critical need for greater scholarship funding.  She also acknowledged that alumni in India are an engaged group, noting that in 2014 the NYU Stern India Regional Group held an impressive conference attended by over 100 Stern alumni. Parents too are an important part of the community, said Dean Menon, and have been invited to get to know the School and each other at events for newly admitted students.

Dean Menon was also joined by Stern faculty:  Marti G. Subrahmanyam, Charles E. Merrill Professor of Finance, Economics and International Business and Alexander S. Tuzhilin, Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business, Information Systems and Chair of the Department of Information, Operations & Management Sciences.

Not only was the event an opportunity to bring together the strong Stern community in India with nearly 100 attendees, but also a chance to show how much the School values its alumni, students and parents abroad.
