Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Institutions
The Salomon Center specializes in the study of financial institutions and markets, including commercial banks, investment banks, managed funds and insurance companies.
Urbanization Project
The NYU Stern Urbanization Project harnesses the growth of cities to speed up global progress. Each semester, Stern MBAs work with the Urbanization Project and the Marron Institute on applied research projects ranging from city planning in Ethiopia and Colombia to SEZs in Liberia to management challenges in the NYPD.

The Ross Institute’s mission is to support state-of-the-art research in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting to capital markets, and disseminate such research to the business community.
The Volatility Institute
The Volatility Institute's mission is to develop and disseminate research on risks in financial markets and closely related topics in financial econometrics. Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance
Stern established the Chen Institute in 2022, made possible through a a $20 million gift from alumnus and Stern Executive Board member Charles C.Y. Chen (MBA ’91) to establish and endow a real estate finance institute at the School.

The Fertitta Military Veterans Program
With a $15 million endowment gift from alumnus Lorenzo Fertitta (MBA ’93) and brother Frank J. Fertitta III, Stern launched a program exclusively for U.S. military veteran and active duty students entering the full-time MBA program.
