NYU Stern Celebrates the Power of Scholarship

On March 4, 2025, NYU Stern hosted the 12th Annual Scholarship Reception, a special gathering that brought together scholarship donors and the students they support for an evening of gratitude and celebration. The event demonstrated the powerful impact of scholarships on the Stern community.
Rohit Deo, Dean of the Undergraduate College, welcomed attendees and shared an update on the state of the School. Susan Jurevics (MBA ’96), a senior executive whose career has shaped global brands like Audible and bareMinerals, spoke about her role as a steward of the Christine A. Schneider Scholarship, created through a testamentary gift from Susan’s dear friend and fellow dedicated Stern alumna, Christine A. Schneider (MBA ’96), who passed away in April 2020 from breast cancer. Wendy Benitez Jaramillo (BS ’26), a distinguished student leader and recipient of the Stan and Lisa Moss Women's Breakthrough Leadership Scholarship, shared that scholarship support made her journey possible at Stern, and that she is committed to giving back through mentoring future generations of student leaders. Both speakers shared inspiring reflections on the role of scholarships in shaping careers, opening doors, and fostering excellence at Stern.
The event provided a meaningful opportunity for donors and students to connect and exchange stories that underscore the lasting influence of giving back. Below are highlights from the reception, along with a video featuring Stern scholars as they reflect on how scholarships have transformed their academic and professional paths.
