NYU Stern’s 9th Scholarship Reception Celebrates Donors and Students
—
On March 3, 2020, NYU Stern hosted its 9th annual Scholarship Reception to bring together the School’s generous scholarship donors and their scholarship recipients. This year, Tom Monahan (MBA ‘95), managing partner, Norton Street Holdings, who supports the Marcil Monahan Women’s Leadership Scholarship, and Sandie O'Connor (BS ’88), former chief regulatory affairs officer, JP Morgan Chase, who supports the Stern Scholars Endowed Scholarship and who was a scholarship recipient herself, each shared how Stern had shaped their lives, and what it means to give back to support students.
The nearly 200 attendees also had a chance to hear from Aldo Gonzalez Aragon (BS ’20), recipient of the Alvarez Family Scholarship, and Gina Marie Borden (MBA ‘20), recipient of the Gilman Foundation Scholarship, who both expressed how grateful they are to their donors and for the opportunities they have had at Stern. Dean Raghu Sundaram welcomed guests and shared his deep gratitude toward the scholarship donors, and NYU Provost Katy Fleming echoed his sentiments and acknowledged how proud NYU is of the strong Stern community.
