The NYU Stern Alumni Food & Wine Group invite all Stern alumni to join us at Huertas on Monday, April 8th, for our fourth dinner of the academic year. Huertas’ acclaimed executive chef/owner Jonah Miller is a fellow NYU alum (Steinhardt Nutrition and Food Studies). And while that is a great reason for our choice, it’s not the only one!
Huertas combines the food and atmosphere of a Spanish pintxo bar with elevated aspects of Basque country cuisine, considered among the world’s finest. Chef Jonah and the Huertas team will wow us with an assortment of Basque pintxos (small, composed bites) and seasonal raciones (shared plates) complemented by a glass of house-made vermouth. Topping it off will be the classic Spanish dessert: house-made churros and chocolate!
Huertas has been a New York Times Critics’ Pick and chef Jonah was a 2015 James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year semifinalist. Earlier in his career, Jonah cooked in the kitchens of some of New York’s finest restaurants. His first cookbook, “The New Spanish: Bites, Feasts, and Drinks,” was released in 2018.
P.S. Early birds are welcome to join us at 6:00 PM at Huertas’ $5 Happy Hour for interesting selections of beer on tap, gin-tonic on tap, wine, Basque-style sidra, Bodegas Yuste 'Aurora' Manzanilla Sherry, and Huertas red, rosé or white vermouth.
$60 per person
Includes tasting menu, one glass of house-made vermouth, and gratuity. Other alcohol and beverages are billed individually.
Seats are limited to 36. Please RSVP by Thursday, April 4, 2019. You are welcome to invite one guest.
