NYU Stern Breaks Records with $8.5 Million Raised on NYU One Day

Students pose to support NYU One Day

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the NYU community came together for the ninth annual NYU One Day, a University-wide initiative to give back toward student scholarships, faculty research, and programming that enriches the student and alumni experience. For the ninth consecutive year, NYU Stern led the charge with the highest number of dollars and donors across all schools at NYU.

This year, Stern raised over $8.5 million through more than 1,900 donations—a remarkable increase from last year’s record-breaking $7.02 million through over 1,700 contributions. Thanks to the support of the Stern Executive Board and Alumni Council, Stern unlocked additional funds by meeting the 125% match for 125 Years of Stern, as well as the Race to 125 Gifts Challenge from an MBA ’98 in London and Maulin Shah (BS ’99)’s Stern 10: $25,000 Alumni Donor Challenge.

As part of One Day, a special event took place featuring NYU Stern Professor Scott Galloway in conversation with Dietrich Becker (MBA ’91), Chair of the NYU Stern Executive Board, and Partner and President of Perella Weinberg Partners. With opening remarks from Tony Watkins (MBA ’11), Chair of the NYU Stern Alumni Council, this engaging discussion brought together members of the Stern community in support of philanthropy. Mr. Becker, together with Professor Galloway, a vocal advocate for giving back, encouraged all attendees to contribute in support of NYU One Day’s mission by each offering $125,000 matching gift challenges of their own.
