NYU Stern Alumni Celebrate at Reunion 2018
—
Alumni from classes ending in '3 and '8 and the Class of 2017 returned to campus on April 27-28 to reconnect with classmates and faculty during Reunion 2018. A record 900-plus alumni, many traveling across the globe to attend the event, took part in a two-day program that included class receptions, a Dean’s welcome, faculty presentations, career workshops, a luncheon, and an evening celebration at Tavern on the Green in Central Park.
Friday Evening: Class Cocktail Receptions
Reunion kicked off on Friday night with class cocktail receptions both at Stern and at popular off-campus bars. The evening gave alumni a chance to reconnect with just their classmates in a casual setting. View photos from each cocktail reception here.
Saturday Daytime: Dean's Welcome, Faculty Presentations, Career Workshops, and a Luncheon
To start the day, alumni enjoyed an NYU-style Brunch and Mimosa Bar at Stern before the Dean’s Welcome Address. Sara Sindelar, MBA ‘17, welcomed Dean Raghu Sundaram to the stage for a fireside chat with Kibi Anderson, MBA ‘13. In his first NYC address to the alumni audience, Dean Sundaram shared updates and innovations happening at Stern, and reinforced the importance of alumni to the School. To learn more about Dean Sundaram, watch the Meet the Dean video series.
Following the Welcome Address, Professor Luke Williams, Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, hosted "9 | 9 People, 9 Ideas, 9 Minutes," featuring a panel of 9 NYU Stern faculty members, including:
Throughout the day, the Career Center for Working Professionals (CCWP) offered individual career advisement sessions and a networking program, featuring Liz DiMarco Weinmann (MBA ‘09), founder and CEO of BEAM-Impact Group.
For the first time at Reunion, Stern partnered with the NYU Global Day of Service and offered attendees the opportunity to support Pencil, a non-profit organization that provides training and development skills to at-risk students. Alumni participated by donating interview and office supplies.
Saturday Evening: Reunion Committee VIP Reception and a Party at Tavern on the Green
The evening program began with a private VIP Reception to thank alumni volunteers and to present Dean Raghu Sundaram with the fundraising totals each class raised in honor of Reunion. The committees helped raise $2.7 million toward scholarships at Stern.
As the grand finale of Reunion Weekend, all classes came together at the iconic Tavern on the Green in Central Park. The celebration featured food stations, full bar, photo booth, candy bar, and a DJ.
