Industry Leaders, Faculty, Students and Alumni Gather to Discuss Content at Annual Entertainment, Media & Technology Summit

On Wednesday, October 26, nearly 300 members of the Stern community joined industry leaders for the 2016 Entertainment, Media & Technology (EMT) Summit entitled “Content: How to Maximize Creative Impact in a Segmented Market”.
Attendees were welcomed by Peter Henry, dean of NYU Stern, and Olga Papadopoulos, BS ‘03, MBA ‘11, Chair of the EMT Alumni Committee. Papadopoulos spoke of the Committee’s dedication to supporting recruitment efforts for students in the EMT space and creating a strong network of Stern EMT alumni.
The Summit got underway with a panel moderated by Peter Land, Partner at Finsbury. Panelists included Scott Langerman, CEO of ACE Media; Stephen Master, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Sports Practice, The Nielsen Co.; and Chris Schlosser, Senior Vice President of Digital for Major League Soccer. Panelists discussed developing sports-specific content and how these strategies vary based on global and digital platforms.
Following the panel, Alvin Lieberman, Professor of Business and Executive Director of the Stern EMT Initiative, led a “Case Study in Content” with Jessica Rodriguez, Executive Vice President and CMO of Univision Communications. Rodriguez shared personal anecdotes, and spoke about the growth and importance of the Univision brand across many segments and markets.
Faculty, students and alumni finished the evening with networking over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
