Professor Dolly Chugh Speaks to Google Employees and Stern Alumni about Her New Book
—
On the day of her book’s launch, Professor Dolly Chugh joined Google employees and Stern alumni at Google's New York office for a discussion about The Person You Mean to Be: How Good People Fight Bias, as part of “Talks at Google.” Brian Welle, director of People Analytics at Google, moderated a lively discussion that focused on recognizing unconscious bias and the importance of accepting feedback and learning from it.
Professor Chugh gave examples of how unconscious bias can be found in professional and personal lives, and shared a story of how she recognized her own assumptions when working with NYU’s Prison Education Program.
After the discussion and a Q&A session, Stern alumni who work at Google gathered for a smaller reception with Professor Chugh.
