The Distressed Foundations for Lawyers Workshop is a two-day intensive seminar that will offer attorneys a unique opportunity to learn the financial skills necessary to analyze corporate credit.
This seminar is only available to lawyers and will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday July 30 and Thursday July 31st at NYU Stern. Participants may attend in person or remotely. Supplemental materials will be provided to participants.
The Workshop is taught by Adjunct Professor Dan Kamensky.
Professor Kamensky is the Co-Director of the Altman-Paulson Initiative on Credit and Distressed Opportunities at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University where he is also an Adjunct Professor. He is also the Executive Director of the Bankruptcy Workshop organized by the Initiative and held at NYU Stern.
Professor Kamensky has nearly 25 years of industry experience with a strong track record of success in special situations and distressed investing across the capital structure, in both public and private markets. He is also a well-regarded attorney who regularly advises some of the most sophisticated financial institutions on navigating distressed situations.
This Workshop will teach participants the foundations of credit analysis and corporate credit covering the following topics: leveraged credit markets and instruments (including the relationship between credit risk, price and yield), capital structure, financial statement and profitability analysis for lawyers (including a focus on EBITDA and credit ratios), cash flow and liquidity analysis for corporate credit, and valuation analysis for lawyers (including a focus on comparables analysis).
Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Altman – Paulson Initiative at the NYU Stern School of Business.
