Admissions

Additional Submissions by Waitlisted Applicants
Waitlisted applicants are welcome to submit additional materials for the Admissions Committee’s review. However, the Admissions Committee reserves the right to make final decisions on waitlisted applications prior to receiving additional information. Materials received after a final decision will not affect that decision.

Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and may not be used toward future applications to NYU Stern or other NYU programs.

Applying to Other NYU Stern MBA Programs
Applicants may only apply to one NYU Stern MBA program per start term (Full-time, Part-time, Executive or TRIUM Executive). If you are not offered admission or withdraw your application during the cycle, you may request to apply to a different program in the same admissions cycle. All requests must be sent to executive@stern.nyu.edu and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Your request must be approved before you begin your new application.

Enrollment Deposit
If admitted, a $5,000 non-refundable enrollment deposit is required to hold your place in the program. The enrollment deposit is not refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Changing Status after Enrollment
NYU Stern does not permit students to transfer to the Full-time program after enrollment in the Executive MBA program. There is a process for Executive MBA students to transfer to the Part-time MBA program, but those are not typical and are on a case-by-case basis. Please carefully consider which program is best suited to your goals prior to applying.

Deferred Admissions
In rare cases, in which unexpected personal or professional circumstances prevent you from beginning the program on the intended date, you may submit a request to the Executive MBA Admissions Committee to defer your enrollment for up to one year. The Admissions Committee reviews deferral requests on a case-by-case basis and approval is not guaranteed.

Dual Degree Programs
Executive MBA students cannot pursue dual degree programs.

Guidelines for Offers of Admissions
Once an admissions decision has been extended to an applicant, that decision is considered final and binding.
An offer of admission is contingent upon the fulfillment of all conditions outlined in the offer letter. Applicants must meet all deadlines and provide accurate information as required.
The Admissions Committee reserves the right to rescind any offer of admission if it is determined that the applicant has failed to meet the necessary criteria or provided inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information during the application process. This may include, but is not limited to, instances of academic misconduct, failure to meet required academic standards, or discrepancies in the application materials submitted. The rescindment of an offer is final and cannot be appealed.

Military Application Fee Waiver
Members of the U.S. military and U.S. military veterans who have served on active duty are eligible for an application fee waiver. Email your request for a fee waiver to executive@stern.nyu.edu and a member of the Admissions team will provide you with a code to waive payment of the application fee. Do not submit your formal application until you receive this confirmation from our office.

General

Change of Contact Information
It is the applicant’s responsibility to update NYU Stern immediately with any new contact information. Failure to update contact information may result in applicants missing important communications from the University, which could jeopardize applicants’ admission and/or place in the class. If your contact information needs to be updated, please email
executive@stern.nyu.edu.

On-Campus Event Attendance and Behavior Courtesy
Individuals who attend an NYU Stern event or program are expected to interact with NYU staff, alumni, volunteers, students and all other individuals in a responsible, appropriate, and professional manner and are further expected to abide by all applicable NYU policies, including but not limited to the Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy; the Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence and Stalking Policy; and the Code of Ethical Conduct.  Should an individual engage in behavior in violation of any such policy or otherwise be deemed, in NYU's sole discretion, to be engaging in conduct that is disorderly or disruptive, NYU may take administrative action including but not limited to removing an attendee from an event and barring them from participating in future University events and programs.

International Student Visa Status
NYU can sometimes sponsor international students. The NYU Office of Global Services (OGS) handles immigration matters for all students, faculty, and staff seeking immigration and visa support when traveling to NYU locations in the US and around the world. NYU can sponsor international students for F-1 student status for the EMBA NY program, but this is not available for the EMBA DC program given the program format. Prospective students should refer to the OGS website for more information.

Mastery of the English Language
During the in-person interview, as well as through the formal application, we will assess the English language proficiency level of applicants for whom English is a second language. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request a TOEFL if deemed necessary.
