Current two-year Full-time MBA student Javier Araujo O’Neill (MBA '23) in-depth Q&A interview: "Meet the MBA Class of 2023: Javier Araujo O’Neill, New York University (Stern)."

Poets and Quants logo
Excerpt from Poets & Quants--  "NYU, as a wider university, houses some of the most artistic and creative collectives in the world. I believe this “poet DNA” organically embeds itself into NYU Stern’s more quant, data-driven curriculum. Many aspects of business today tend to be mundane or outdated and require the type of creativity or out-of-the-box thinking that Stern provides its students to foster innovation. As I began to explore different MBA programs, I was keen on finding a school that challenges the status quo. Stern’s belief to embrace change, if not create it, immediately resonated with me."

The way the program is structured (meets one weekend a month), I was able to maintain a work life balance and allot time throughout the month to work on class projects and assignments."

Assistant Dean of MBA Admissions Lisa Rios podcast interview: "Are You Interested in NYU Stern?"

Accepted_Logo_190x145
Excerpt from Accepted.com-- "So the two-year, full-time MBA program is really geared towards helping folks make a transition in their career and helping elevate them to that next phase of their professional life. For some folks it’s a career pivot, and then for others, it’s folks that are looking to build out a skill set so that they can continue to move up the proverbial ladder, as I’m sure you’ve seen as you’re connecting with prospective students.

The thing that I love about Stern is the experiential components of the program: the fact that the students have the opportunity to put into action what they’re learning in the classroom with real problems and providing solutions for real organizations. You’ll see this through our experiential learning suite of options. I know you spoke with us last year when we launched our Change:Studio which has a number of opportunities for students to put some solutions into practice for real organizations."

Professor Ian D’Souza is highlighted: "Favorite MBA Professors Of The Class Of 2021."

Poets and Quants logo
Excerpt from Poets & Quants--  "'At Stern, we have many professors who are intellectually stimulating, care for their students, and love teaching. My favorite professor would have to be Ian D’Souza. I took his New Venture Financing class in the fall on Thursday evenings. He brought so much energy to the three-hour class and created a very engaging environment with lots of student participation. He’s extremely knowledgeable and approachable. He scheduled insightful one-on-one mid-term feedback sessions with each of his 45 students to ensure we understood the material. He also used the time to casually chat and ask if there is anything he could assist with. I enjoyed his class so much that I enrolled in his Digital Currency and Blockchains course this semester.'

"'The Public Sector Plays An Integral Part In Business: 'As part of the Business and Political Economy program, I’ve learned that “institutions matter.” Businesses interact with and rely on a complex network of governmental and cultural institutions in order to succeed. I didn’t truly grasp this concept until I spent a year studying abroad in London and Shanghai, where I was able to witness first-hand how the success of businesses depends greatly on the political structures, cultural norms, and laws and regulations present in a given market (e.g. Brexit!). The private and public sectors are much more intertwined than I ever imagined, and studying business internationally helped me gain a holistic and cross-cultural understanding of why institutions matter in the corporate world.'
