The excellence and dedication of Stern's faculty form the core of the Ph.D. program. Stern doctoral students begin the program learning the tools and state-of-the-art literature of their field from the very faculty who are defining the forefront of their disciplines.

We offer eight areas of study all leading to a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business, where each student’s course of study is tailored to his or her own interests.

From day one, Stern doctoral students actively engage in the research process. One-on-one research experiences with multiple faculty members give students wide exposure to different areas of research.

Over the course of the program, students deepen their interests and engage in joint research projects with a smaller number of professors, eventually becoming equal partners in the research process.
