What was your favorite class at Stern?

The Craft and Commerce of Cinema: Cannes Film Festival is an application-based, faculty-led travel course taught by Professor Lieberman. The course covered all aspects of the film industry and culminated in attendance at the Cannes Film Festival. It was a unique and special educational experience and one of many things that really set Stern apart among business schools.

What is your fondest memory at Stern?

During my first year at Stern, the Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students (AHBBS) planned a spring break trek to Morocco. We spent 10 days traveling throughout the country, including an overnight in the desert. On our many stops along the way, we were exposed to so many aspects of Moroccan culture and made memories with classmates that will last a lifetime.

How has your Stern education helped with your career development?

Stern opened my eyes to new professional possibilities and career opportunities were suddenly open to me that never would have been prior to business school. My Stern education helped me develop my leadership skills, broadened my understanding of business concepts, and enabled me to apply critical thinking to all sorts of challenges. I wouldn't have my career if I hadn't attended Stern and it was, without a doubt, one of the best life decisions I have made.

Industry: Real Estate

Function: Project Manager

Employer: Verizon Communications

Club Involvement at Stern: Langone Student Government, Stern Real Estate Club,
Asian Business Society

Specializations: Finance, Real Estate

What was your favorite class at Stern?
"Engage Your Audience" was my favorite class at Stern. This was a 1.5 credit communications
course where we practiced presenting different types of speeches. I enjoyed this class so much
because of how quickly I saw my presentation skills improve. It was also rewarding because I
saw all of my classmates grow as public speakers too.

What is your fondest memory at Stern?
My fondest memory at Stern was serving as Langone Student Government's VP of First Year
students. In this role, I oriented all of the incoming students to Stern through various social
events. I planned scavenger hunts, karaoke, and Halloween parties to get them engaged with
their classmates. This experience helped me to form so many new friendships and allowed me
to get the most out of the Stern program.

What was your favorite experiential learning opportunity?
I participated in the Operations in Entertainment: Las Vegas course. This course brought us to
Las Vegas for a week to learn Operations Management for some of the most well-known
entertainment businesses: casinos, hotels, nightclubs, the UFC, the Las Vegas Raiders, and
more. While the trip didn't leave much time for sleep, I have a much deeper understanding of
how the Las Vegas economy works than I ever could have otherwise.

How has your Stern education helped with your career development?
Having Stern on my resume has landed me dozens of interviews and my current part-time
internship in the area of Real Estate Investing. It has also opened up the Stern alumni network
to me, who's members have served as a tremendous resource during my job search.
