Stern's Full-time MBA application innovations are highlighted and record-breaking student quality is cited; Executive Director of MBA Admissions Lisa Rios interview: "Another Elite U.S. B-School Will Keep The Option To Waive The GMAT & GRE."

Poets and Quants logo
Excerpt from Poets & Quants-- "'Stern has always taken an applicant-centric approach, including being on the forefront of offering students standardized test flexibility without compromising our ability to assess academic readiness for our rigorous MBA,' she says. 'In addition to the GMAT, Stern was among the first top schools to accept the GRE, and later added the Executive Assessment, LSAT, and MCAT to our test options given our dual-degree business programs in law and medicine.'”

"Stern, the No. 15 school (up from 16th) in the most recent P&Q ranking, enrolled an MBA class that — bucking trends — notched an average GMAT score and average undergraduate GPA that were both the highest in school history. The lowest GMAT score to gain entry to Stern was a 640, much higher than the previous year’s 600. Stern also enrolled its highest-ever number of women, at 43% of the class. Stern’s class Graduate Record Exam average was also up, as was the percentage of the class that submitted GRE scores."

Stern's two-year Full-time MBA internship outcomes are highlighted; Associate Dean of Career Services Beth Briggs is quoted: "MBA Internship Pay & Placement At The Top 25 — Before & During Covid-19."

Poets and Quants logo
Excerpt from Poets & Quants-- "Across the top 25, while 13 schools saw increases in intern pay, many were very small. Tracking from 2018, when only one U.S. B-school cracked the $9,000 threshold for median monthly MBA intern salary (NYU Stern School of Business), we see a jump in 2019 when there were seven, and two others that were only $23 short."

"'Our partnership with employers and alumni was key to student success as we deepened existing connections and created new opportunities,' Beth Briggs, associate dean of career services at NYU Stern, told P&Q last year. 'These relationships resulted in all first-year students who were seeking a summer internship securing one.'"

Professor João Sedoc interview: "Why Professors Should Ask Students For Feedback Long Before the Semester Is Over."

Edsurge logo
Excerpt from EdSurge-- "Putting that concept partially into practice is assistant professor João Sedoc, who asks students to converse with a customized chatbot as a way to get feedback about his courses in technology, operations and statistics at the New York University Stern School of Business. He likes that the artificially intelligent tool relates to his tech curriculum. And he suspects that the engaging nature of a chatbot elicits more feedback from students than if he instead used an online survey or a Google form.

'People express themselves more,' Sedoc says. 'Which is always good—the more they tell me, the more I know.'”

Two-year Full-time MBA alumnus Chris Fan (MBA '20) in-depth Q&A interview: "Real Humans of Novartis: Chris Fan, NYU Stern ‘20, Finance Development Program (FDP) Associate."

Clear Admit logo
Excerpt from Clear Admit-- "Besides the eminent faculty and the accomplished student body, what drove my decision to attend NYU Stern was its location. Being in New York City, NYU Stern affords its students unique opportunities that many other schools cannot. Students can attend class in the morning, leave campus to network with an alum, and still make it back in time for their next class or meeting. NYU Stern’s curriculum also reflects this location advantage through its host of experiential learning courses. For example, I participated in Endless Frontier Labs, a program for early stage deep tech and life sciences startups housed at NYU Stern. Through this program, MBA students are paired with a startup to help the company define and execute on strategic priorities. Students also participate in real-time mentorship meetings, through which they are given the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and VCs."

Two-year Full-time MBA alumna Tiffaine Stephens (MBA '20) in-depth Q&A interview: "Real Humans of PepsiCo: Tiffaine Stephens, NYU Stern ‘20, Associate Marketing Manager."

Clear Admit logo
Excerpt from Clear Admit-- "I chose NYU Stern for a few reasons. The first thing that stood out to me was the flexibility in the curriculum. There were a number of classes that would allow me to work with other students on real-world problems. The second factor was the community. After attending Discover Stern Weekend hosted by the Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students (AHBBS), I knew that I could bring my whole self to the program. The third factor was location. As a Jersey girl, I was ready to return to the east coast, home of various industries and opportunities."
