The annual Sustainability Career Boot Camp, hosted by the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, provides Stern undergraduate students with an intensive training program to prepare them for a variety of sustainability-oriented careers. In January 2025, we partnered with PwC for an engaging boot camp with a hands-on introduction to skills & internship opportunities in sustainability with a deep dive workshop on sustainability as a strategic imperative highlighting the key ESG concepts, frameworks and standards driving their work with clients.

Concentration: Finance, Minor in Social Entrepreneurship
Before attending the 2025 Sustainability Careers Boot Camp with PwC, I understood sustainability as making thoughtful decisions in our daily lives to protect the environment—such as recycling water bottles to reduce non-biodegradable waste in our oceans or turning off lights to conserve electricity. As a Finance major with a minor in Social Entrepreneurship, my exposure to sustainability was primarily through my role as a Social Impact Fellow during my freshman year at Stern. One of the most impactful experiences was presenting a project on SDG 1: No Poverty to UN representatives, which deepened my passion for becoming a business leader who drives meaningful impact. When I received the invitation to participate in the Sustainability Careers Boot Camp, I immediately knew I wanted to be part of it. The program expanded my understanding of sustainability beyond environmental efforts, showing me how to integrate it into a business career. My favorite part was stepping into the role of a sustainability consultant—analyzing a case and applying CSRD and ESRS principles to develop a profitable and sustainable recommendation. I highly recommend the 2025 Sustainability Careers Boot Camp, especially for students not specializing in sustainable business. This program not only equips you with valuable skills but also highlights the significant impact you can make on the world.
