During the summer of 2023, Debbie Wen (MBA '24) interned as an NYU Stern MBA Sustainability Fellow at Tory Burch. Read on to learn more about her time there:

I interned on the sustainability team at Tory Burch working closely with the Global Head of ESG Strategy, a fellow Stern alumna. My major project over the summer was benchmarking the company’s internal ESG strategy against the B Lab’s consumer-facing sustainability standards. The most impactful part of my internship came from my interactions with stakeholders across the company and the holistic view I gained of the company’s operations.

 

The intersection of fashion and sustainability has been an interest of mine for years so this opportunity felt perfect. My career before Stern was at an early-stage startup so I appreciated getting to contribute to a large, well-established company focused on long-term growth rather than mid-term survival.
