At the conclusion of an eight-month competition, NYU’s most promising innovators received startup funding and pro-bono services valued at more than $250,000 at NYU Stern’s annual Entrepreneurs Challenge, organized by the School’s Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship.

In his address to the NYU Stern Undergraduate Class of 2021, Adam Mosseri will reflect on his experiences living in New York City, attending New York University, and his journey to becoming the Head of Instagram. He will discuss the importance of finding the intersection of passion and talent in the context of graduating in a global pandemic, a once-in-a-generation moment.

The following professors can speak to what we will see this year around promotional and marketing trends, winners and losers in online and offline retail, shifts in consumer sentiment and how brands are leveraging technology in response to the coronavirus.

The student-led NYU Impact Investment Fund (NIIF) has successfully completed its second investment with a $25,000 investment in SmartGurlz, whose mission  is to engage elementary school aged students, in particular girls who are currently underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), to learn skills in coding.

The CEO Investor Forum and NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business are calling for leading companies to adapt and identify new ways to demonstrate value to investors. A new research paper written in partnership between the two organizations found that for companies to move the markets away from “short-termism,” and focus on long-term value creation and stakeholder engagement, they must increase the volume, quality, and prominence of ESG-related information and disclosures shared on the quarterly earnings call.

Endless Frontier Labs (EFL), a program for early-stage science and technology-based startups at New York University Stern School of Business, graduated its 2019-2020 cohort of startups, concluding its nine-month program.  The EFL application for the 2020-2021 cycle is now open until 9 PM (ET), Friday, August 21, 2020.  Founders of life sciences and deep technology startups at an early stage (pre-Series A financing) are encouraged to apply to the 2020-2021 program cycle.
