In August, NYU Stern’s Online MS in Quantitative Management (MSQM) Program welcomed its newest students, marking the program’s fifth cohort. Stern’s online MSQM has been synonymous with innovation from the start; at launch, Stern was the first and only top-ranked US business school to establish a master’s in management online.

Excerpt from Poets & Quants — "While EQ+IQ defines the Stern philosophy, scale reflects its day-to-day. The school is home to over 5,800 business students, half of whom are pursuing graduate degrees. The school also employs 470 professors among its tenure, tenure-track, clinical, visiting and adjunct faculty. With its New York City digs, the school can attract top industry executives and functional experts as speakers and adjuncts. That doesn’t count renowned faculty members like Scott Galloway, Aswath Damodaran, and Glenn Okun. At the same time, students can choose from 200 electives and complete three specializations. Excerpt from Financial Times -- "As Covid restrictions have eased, this has allowed for freer global movement, but some business schools have adapted their strategies. The Trium Global EMBA — jointly delivered by HEC Paris, New York University’s Stern School of Business and the London School of Economics — has yet to reinstate its China module, which was suspended during the pandemic.

'We believe there will be less business with China in the years to come, and therefore we decided to explore other interesting locations,” says Laurence Lehmann-Ortega, HEC’s academic director for the Trium programme. The school has introduced Singapore as an alternative location for this year and next, and South Korea from 2025 onwards.'"
 

On Tuesday, October 11, NYU Stern's Business and Society Program hosted the Haitkin Lecture with guest Brad Smith, vice chair and president, Microsoft. The discussion was moderated by Michael Posner, director, NYU Stern Center for Business & Human Rights.

Dear Members of the Stern Community,

Words cannot do justice to the horrifying news and images to which many of us woke up on Saturday, of a brutal attack on Israeli civilians within its borders that left hundreds—including young children—dead, families dismembered, and many others kidnapped and whose whereabouts are unknown, acts of unbridled terrorism that deserve the strongest possible condemnation. Nor is it possible to rationalize and come to terms with the suffering that is now encompassing the entire region as war rages on, cutting short and maiming thousands more of Israeli and Palestinian lives. The violence shows no signs of abating.

Excerpt from Clear Admit -- "New York University’s Stern School of Business MBA Class of 2025 profile nearly mirrors the record-breaking Class of 2024. The new class earned an average GMAT score of 732, just shy of last year’s record of 733. They also showed their academic strengths with an average undergraduate GPA of 3.61–again, nearly identical to last year’s 3.62. Stern also maintained the diversity of the newest MBA class, as percentages of women, international students and U.S. minorities remained virtually unchanged compared to last year."

Excerpt from Poets & Quants — “Professor Michael North for Leadership in Organizations. I left his classes more energized than when I came in. His facilitation of the class discussion was impeccable, and he would blend concepts with discussions around and opinions about the case at hand. Plus, he’s the most accessible professor I’ve met. Outside of class, I would write long emails to him about my thoughts on the class or a discussion during class and he would take the time to respond to each one I wrote. For context, some email chains lasted for weeks and months after the class was over. I think that level of openness, eloquence and humility make him an incredibly impactful educator. Oh, and his slides were the coolest I’ve ever seen!”

There are students with a range of undergraduate majors from engineering, math, and science, to social science, economics, and the humanities. The class also has an average GMAT score of 732, one of the highest in NYU Stern's history, and consistent with the last cohort's average score of 733."

As we’ve done each year since 2014, we solicited startups from the world’s best MBA programs to compile a list based on a single metric: how much funding a startup has raised in the past five years, the most accessible apples-to-apples comparison."

The inaugural cohort of Stern’s new Master of Science in Fintech program arrived on campus in NYC to begin classes for the global, one-year, module degree.
