Cynthia Y. Franklin Senior Associate Director, Berkley Center Adjunct Instructor of Entrepreneurship Cynthia is a Stern alumna with an MBA in management and a graduate of Bernard M. Baruch College where she earned a BBA (magna cum laude). She returned to Stern from KIP Communications, a b-to-b marketing and media company she co-founded. The company’s flagship publication is the award-winning KIP Business Report newspaper, whose advertisers included Mercedes-Benz, Citibank, AT&T, JPMorgan Chase, among others. Cynthia co-produced KIP Business Report Success Stories, a weekly television segment profiling entrepreneurs, which aired on WCBS-TV, and co-hosted The KIP Business Report on WLIB radio, a popular morning drive-time program focused on small business issues. For her work promoting entrepreneurship and business development, Cynthia has received numerous honors and awards from the U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, and former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, to name only a few. She has been featured in Crain’s NY Business, The New York Times, and The Daily News as well as a host of other media outlets. Jill R. Kickul Director of the Stewart Satter Program in Entrepreneurship Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Jill R. Kickul joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Clinical Professor of Management and Organizations in July 2008. She teaches courses in entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship and is the director of the Berkley Center's Stewart Satter Program in Social Entrepreneurship. Jill teaches courses in both entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. Her primary research areas of interest include innovation and strategic processes within new ventures, micro-financing practices and wealth creation in transitioning economies, and more recently, social entrepreneurship. Jill is the author of Entrepreneurship Strategy: Changing Patterns in New Venture Creation, Growth, and Reinvention (Sage Publishing). Jill has published more than 70 publications. Before joining Stern, she was the Richard A. Forsythe Chair in Entrepreneurship in the Thomas C. Loretta Poole Associate Director, Berkley Center Programs Loretta Poole joined NYU Stern in 1986. She is the associate director of the Berkley Center where she develops, plans and organizes NYU Stern’s Entrepreneurs' Challenge venture competitions, assists with the administrative operations and student programs. Before joining NYU, Loretta was the office manager for Avery Ferentz’s Chiropractic Office where she was instrumental in launching the wellness center for three doctors and managed all phases of the business. Prior work experience also includes serving as assistant director of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Photograph and Slide Library, where she researched and categorized art works and related materials that are part of the museums’ permanent art collection.
