Nerissa Naidu
Executive MBA, Class of January 2014
For the last eight years Nerissa served as a management consultant for Accenture in London. Ready for a change, she decided to make a move to New York and shift from consulting to the corporate world. “In order to facilitate a smoother transition into this domain, I pursued an Executive MBA to give myself a well-rounded view,” says Nerissa. The NYU Stern Executive MBA program offered a mix of strong courses in finance with general management and leadership. Also appealing to her as a South African, a large international student footprint allowed for further development of her global network.
Now, she serves as Global Business Architect within AIG, Inc.’s claims group. As a leading international insurance company, AIG has global reach and Nerissa’s new role will have her develop and manage a new operating model that will be rolled out to AIG claims offices worldwide. She is already impressed with innovative views of business offered by the Stern faculty that will be critical to her ability to add value to the five-year strategic transformation plan of her new employer. She explains, “The strength of the program so far has been to offer contemporary focus and alternate points of view on business problems that most people face in the work environment, regardless of industry.”
