James Ohlson
Biography
James Ohlson returned to New York University Stern School of Business as a Professor of Accounting in July 2008. He was a member of the NYU Stern Faculty from 1998 to 2004 and spent four years at Arizona State University as a W.P. Carey Professor of Accounting between his Stern appointments.
Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Ohlson held chaired positions at Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley. He also held visiting positions at distinguished foreign institutions such as INSEAD, the London School of Economics, National Taiwan University and the Stockholm School of Economics, where he was awarded an Honorary Doctoral Degree.
Professor Ohlson's work focuses on accounting data and equity valuation, and he recently published a monograph entitled, "Earnings, Earnings Growth and Value." His work has appeared in premier academic journals such as the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies and Contemporary Accounting Research. Four of his papers have been recognized by the American Accounting Association as notable contributions to the field.
Professor Ohlson received his M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
