CSB's Tensie Whelan was interviewed by Bloomberg TV for a segment on food waste. The piece discussed the environmental impact and upcycling solutions, while Whelan provides the financial perspective:

 

"You're wasting the chemicals you put in, you’re wasting the water you paid for, you’re wasting the energy you used, you’re wasting the labor that was put into the product, you’re wasting the labor on the manufacturing. So there’s a series of inefficiencies from a financial perspective of that kind of food waste even prior to it being wasted once the consumer gets it."
