First Week Residency

The Executive MBA program begins on Monday, August 20, with a required, week-long, live-in residency at Tarrytown House Estate in Tarrytown, New York. Attendance at all sessions, starting with the Monday orientation, is mandatory, and we provide accommodations for all students.

Three courses begin at the residency: Communication for Teams and Leaders, Professional Responsibility, and Financial Accounting and Reporting. Two courses continue at Stern. Professional Responsibility ends on September 21, after 5 sessions, while Financial Accounting and Reporting (10 sessions) continues through October 19. Communication for Teams and Leaders is a highly interactive course designed to enhance productive team relationships; it meets several times during the residency and ends there.  Study group coaching, however, continues during the semester.

No family or visitors may join you except for the night of Thursday, August 23, when a guest may join you for dinner and bed and breakfast at NYU Stern’s expense. We will ask for your guest's RSVP when you arrive on Monday, August 20.

Monday, August 20, is orientation day. Attendance at orientation is required and begins with a working lunch. Please arrive at Tarrytown House no later than 11 a.m. Please consider traffic if you are driving.
