Chen to establish and endow a real estate finance institute. The Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance is named in honor of the donor’s father. It will house new initiatives to study how the real estate industry is being shaped by three vital forces: property technology, climate change, and emerging markets. The new institute will award scholarships, host scholars and fellows-in-residence, partner with other centers at the university, and provide research grants to faculty and doctoral students."

Today (September 7) it announced a major investment that it hopes will reinforce that distinction for many years to come.
 
NYU Stern has received $20 million to establish the Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance, the largest-ever gift to an institute in school history. The gift from alumnus and Stern Executive Board member Charles C.Y. Chen will support initiatives in areas disrupting real estate as well as global expansion in research, industry engagement, and immersive learning for students, the school said in an announcement. There will also be scholarships for undergraduate and MBA students."

Today New York University Stern School of Business announced a $20 million gift from alumnus and Stern Executive Board member Charles C.Y. Chen (MBA ’91) to establish and endow a real estate finance institute at the School. Named in honor of his father, the Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance will enable the global expansion of Stern’s position as a worldwide leader in research, immersive learning, and industry engagement in the fields of real estate and the built environment.

The new class earned the highest average GMAT in the school’s history: 733. They also showed their academic prowess with a new record average GPA of 3.62.
