Jeffrey Immelt is Chairman and CEO of General Electric (GE), a diversified technology and services company dedicated to creating products as varied as aircraft engines to financial services, medical imaging and plastics. Prior to his appointment in 2001 as Chairman and CEO, Mr. Immelt served as President of GE. He began his GE career in 1982, and since then has held a series of leadership roles with GE Plastics, GE Appliances, and GE Medical Systems. In addition, he serves on the board of Catalyst, a non-profit organization devoted to advancing women in business.
