Passport Day 2013
—
"Passport Day is an annual event organized by the Stern Student Government's International Committee, where students get to share their country's unique heritage by showcasing their traditional cuisine, costumes, music and/or performances," explains Duygu Gokbudak (MBA '14). "It's a great opportunity to experience Stern’s diversity firsthand, and to taste delicious cuisines from around the world. This year we had representatives from 30 countries, who volunteered their time to share their cultures with their classmates. We had four performances: traditional dances from Bulgaria, Brazil and India, as well as a Taekwondo performance from Korea. This all led up to our "best country" contest, where we asked attendees to vote for their top three choices (based on food, performances, costumes, etc.), and India got first place. Personally it was my favorite student-organized event of the year, as it's very representative of Stern's diverse and collaborative community."
