NYU Stern Students Convene with New York State and City Government Officials and Advocacy Groups to Share Research on Educational Funding

A graduate student team from a Stern communication course presented their research on public school funding to a closed-door session. The 50 participants included six New York City Council members including Bill Perkins, the New York State and New York City Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic, and Asian caucuses, NYS Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou and educational advocacy groups the Alliance for Quality Education, the Coalition for Educational Justice and the Urban Youth Collaborative. The students, representing NYU Stern, GSAS and Courant, conducted their research under the direction of Professors Susan Stehlik and Aline Wolff, who designed the course, Communication for Consultants.
