NYU Stern School of Business has announced today that the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) Program has a new name: MS in Business Analytics and AI (MSBAi).

The one-year, part-time, modular Program currently integrates cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and business analytics into the curriculum. The new name is a logical development designed to more accurately describe what is already being taught in the classroom.

According to Professor Anindya Ghose, the Program’s Academic Director, “For over a decade since the Program’s launch, we have continuously delivered a dynamic curriculum to ensure our students are equipped with the tools and skills needed to become trailblazing data scientists and business leaders in any industry. In particular, we have made some shifts to the curriculum to include foundational aspects of AI in our courses.”

He continued, “Graduates of our program are experts in the applications of AI-based methodologies to solve a wide multitude of problems in business. They have the tools to drive better business results given their deep expertise in core AI skills including data engineering, causal inference, predictive analytics, deep learning and Generative AI. These skills are critical to helping businesses solve today’s challenges in a fair, equitable and ethical way. This distinction in our Program’s name will help students convey the breadth of knowledge they have acquired in both business analytics and AI and will more clearly communicate to prospective students what they can expect to learn.”

Professor Ghose co-invented (with Professor Ravi Bapna) what he terms the "House of AI" framework, drawing from his experience working with nearly 50 companies in various capacities around the world on strategies to integrate AI into their businesses. He has incorporated this real-world framework to shape the MSBAi curriculum over the years. The same AI framework is also included in their forthcoming book, THRIVE: Maximizing Wellness in the Age of AI.
