—
Date: Thursday, March 24, 2022
Time: 6pm ET
Location: Virtual
On March 24, NYU Stern's Fubon Center will host a webinar entitled, "The U.S. Government's Strategy for Investing in Innovation", with Jenni Gerbi, Deputy Director for Technology of ARPA-E & Professor and Fubon Director of the Innovation Technology Initiative Melissa Schilling.
The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) is a government agency tasked with helping to advance high-potential, high-impact energy technologies that are too early for private-sector investment. ARPA-E funds projects focused on developing entirely new ways to generate, store, and use energy. As such, this agency has to decide how to assess projects that may be highly novel and uncertain, and provide them ongoing support. At this fireside chat, we will talk with Jennifer Gerbi, Deputy Director for Technologyat ARPA-E about how the agency prioritizes technology areas, assesses and funds projects, and helps those projects become the breakthrough innovations in energy.
