Second Annual Faculty Excellence Dinner

As part of a new annual tradition, NYU Stern faculty and guests gathered to celebrate a number of recent faculty accomplishments across the School. Dean Peter Henry underscored the influence of Stern faculty in business, policy and academia, and highlighted a handful of recent honors, including:
- Ashwini Agrawal’s Young Researcher Prize from the Review of Financial Studies
- Jennifer Carpenter’s NYU Stern Distinguished Award for Teaching Excellence
- Aswath Damodaran’s use of a new platform called Coursekit, making his lectures available on the web to thousands of students around the world
- Rohit Deo’s 2012 NYU Distinguished Teaching Award
- Tom Sargent’s 2011 Nobel Prize in Economics
- Alexi Savov’s 2011 Smith Breeden Distinguished Paper Prize
- Robert Seamans’s Kauffman Firm Survey Best Paper Award
- Richard Sylla’s election into the American Academy of Sciences
- Aswath Damodaran, Sonia Marciano, Batia Wiesenfeld, Scott Galloway, Bruce Buchanan, Al Lieberman, Michael Spence, Robert Engle, Elizabeth Morrison and Glenn Okun were recognized for devoting their time to students and lending their names to Stern’s new Faculty Scholars Program.
