On April 4 and 5, NYU Stern hosted the sixth edition of the Blockchain Workshops series, which brought together more than 100 scientists, investors and legal experts to understand the upcoming challenges and opportunities provided by blockchain technologies, and their impact on financial services and entrepreneurship, as well as on the broader social, economic and political order.

Experts from academia, the finance sector, regulatory agencies and legal and accounting professions gathered at NYU Stern on April 4 for a roundtable discussion on "Assessing Materiality: The FASB's Proposed Accounting Standards Update," hosted by the Vincent C. Ross Institute of Accounting Research.

NYU Stern’s Center for Sustainable Business, VICE Media and Collectively co-hosted the Future Jobs Fair on Wednesday, March 30. NYU and Stern students had the opportunity to share their ambitions on the future of work, design their perfect job of the future, and gain insights and skills into what the world of work will look like. 

Lord Mervyn King, former Governor of the Bank of England, Baron King of Lothbury, Alan Greenspan Professor of Economics, and Professor of Economics and Law at NYU, addressed students, faculty and alumni from NYU Stern and NYU School of Law during a fireside chat on his new book The End of Alchemy: Money, Banking, and the Future of the Global Economy this March.  

United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara recently addressed an auditorium of students and faculty from NYU’s Stern School of Business and Law School, as well as Stern alumni.

NYU Stern's W.R. Berkley Innovation Lab will welcome alumni, angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and industry innovators to the 2016 New Venture Showcase.  Attendees will have a chance to meet startups from across NYU who are competing in the $200K Entrepreneurs Challenge.  This year's startups range from software and consumer product ventures to medical device technologies.

On February 19, 2016, the social enterprise student organizations of New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, School of Law, and Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service will host the Sixth Annual NYU Social Innovation Symposium (SIS).

On Friday, February 5, Stern Women in Business (SWIB) will host its 24th annual conference, themed "Strengths of Women in Business." This year's conference will feature a keynote talk from Susan L. Jurevics (MBA '96), CEO of Pottermore from J.K. Rowling, moderated by CNBC reporter Courtney Reagan (MBA '13).

Approximately 65 attendees including Stern alumni and industry professionals gathered to hear from Stern Professor Tom Cooley and NYU Professor of Politics and Economics David Denoon, director of NYU’s Center on US-China Relations.

The TRIUM Global Executive MBA program, a partnership between NYU’s Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and HEC Paris School of Management, held a module in Silicon Valley, California from January 8 - 18, the first in the program’s history.

On November 20, 2015, at NYU Shanghai’s campus in Pudong, the Volatility Institute at NYU Shanghai (VINS) held its First Annual Conference. The conference was prepared in cooperation with the Economics School at Fudan University as well as Pudong Institute of Finance, and was centered on the theme of “Liberalizations in Emerging Markets.”

Distinguished academics from around the world will convene to share their research in the rapidly evolving field of network economics at the 2015 Fall NET Institute Conference on Network Economics, Electronic Commerce, and Platform Competition, held in partnership with NYU Stern’s Center for Global Economy and Business.

US Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro delivered an economic and housing policy speech at NYU Stern.  As part of his remarks, Secretary Castro discussed the overall housing market recovery under the Obama Administration and shared highlights of the Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) 2015 Annual Report to Congress.
