Storytelling is as primordial an impulse as anything--as Professor Naomi Diamant puts it, "everything in life is about stories". Regardless of medium or mode of communication, the act of storytelling has remained unchanged: it's still about an impulse for engagement. So whether it's Dickens setting the scene, or a 140-character Tweet, the storytelling imperative remains.
