Srikanth Jagabathula is the Robert Stansky Research Faculty Fellow; Professor of Technology, Operations, and Statistics; and the Academic Director of the Anand Khubani BS in Business, Technology, and Entrepreneurship program, all at the NYU Stern School of Business. His academic journey includes a year as Visiting Associate Professor of Technology and Operations Management at Harvard Business School. With a commitment to excellence in education, he teaches courses on operations management and AI/ML across undergraduate, graduate, PhD, and executive levels, earning recognition as one of Poets & Quants' “Top 40 Under 40 Outstanding Business School Professors.”
He is an expert on algorithmic retail execution. His research focuses on using AI and ML algorithms to optimize supply chain decisions for various businesses, ranging from traditional retailers and brands to digital content platforms. He pioneered the use of large-scale choice models to combine operations data with customer data for solving operations problems. More broadly, he uses his deep technical expertise in mathematical optimization, machine learning, and statistics to develop solutions that can scale to large practical sized operations and marketing problems.
Srikanth's passion extends beyond academia to creating practical impact through entrepreneurial ventures and advisory roles. His first venture Celect Inc., acquired by Nike, successfully translated his doctoral research into groundbreaking solutions for the retail industry. Celect's technology has been hailed as one of MIT CSAIL's 50 great innovations. His contributions to companies like The Bon-Ton, Ford, eBay.com, and AB InBev, underscore his impact on the industry.
His contributions have garnered numerous accolades, including the NSF CAREER Award, the Wickham Skinner Early-Career Research Accomplishments Award from the POM Society, and over ten best paper awards in Operations and ML. His academic excellence was recognized early with the President of India Gold Medal and the best Master’s thesis award.
A renowned speaker, Srikanth has delivered over 100 talks worldwide, sharing his insights with academic and industry leaders alike. He serves on the editorial boards of Management Science, Operations Research, and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, prestigious academic journals in the business and operations domains. His prolific output includes over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers and three patents, marking him as a pivotal figure in the intersection of technology, operations, and business innovation.
