Biography

Indira Puri joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance in July 2023.

Puri’s research helps us better understand how consumers and businesses make decisions. Her papers tease out the observable implications of economic and financial theories, testing these in data and writing new models where needed to better describe and understand behavior. Prior to joining Stern, Puri completed a PhD in Economics from MIT, an MS in Computer Science from Stanford, and a BAS in Mathematics and in Economics from Stanford University. She is a recipient of the AQR Top Finance Graduate Award, the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans, and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
