Biography

Gary Fraser is currently Associate Dean of the Full-Time MBA program at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles, where he is responsible for admissions, academic affairs, career services and student affairs for all full time MBA students at UCLA Anderson. Most recently (2019-22), he served as Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Before returning to NYU Stern in January 2019, he was Assistant Dean of Full Time Student Affairs at UCLA Anderson where he taught a course entitled Real World Challenges Leaders Face and developed and launched UCLA Anderson’s current student leadership development program: Leadership@Anderson. He was also Assistant Dean at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and began his career in higher education at NYU Stern where he served as Assistant Dean of the Office of Career Development and then Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Dean of Students.

In addition to working in Higher Education, he has held positions in brand management at the Hanes Corporation, the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group, and Mondelez International. In 2011, he received his Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. His dissertation was entitled: A Case Study in Leadership Development at Select U.S. Graduate Business Schools. Dr. Fraser received his MBA from NYU Stern, where he served as President of the Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students, was the recipient of New York University’s President’s Service Award, and was selected as the student speaker at his NYU Stern graduation ceremonies. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University, where he was named captain of the Intercollegiate Debate Team.

Dr. Fraser remains an adjunct professor at NYU Stern where he created and taught Leading Inclusive Teams, a course for NYU Stern’s Executive MBA Program, and currently teaches Professional Responsibility to full and part time MBA students. As the owner and creator of G.E. Fraser & Associates, where he serves as C.E.O., he has worked with the following organizations: Goldman Sachs, UBS, QBE, Teleperformance, TIAA, Ace Hotels, Harvard Business Publishing, London Business School, Pearson Education, and the United States Hunter Jumper Association in addition to other groups and organizations on the challenges of developing leaders, growing organizational intercultural competence, and effectively embracing diversity for better organizational outcomes. Dr. Fraser was the founding board chair of Collegiate Charter High School of Los Angeles and has previously served on the board for the Los Angeles chapter of Minds Matter and on the board of Forte’- a national organization dedicated to the educational advancement of women interested in business careers. He currently serves on the board of Lime Connect, an organization dedicated to the professional advancement of individuals with disabilities.
