Maher Said is an Associate Professor of Economics and the Academic Director of Executive MBA Programs at New York University Stern School of Business.
Professor Said is an applied microeconomic theorist working at the intersection of game theory and industrial organization, with a primary focus on information economics and dynamic mechanism design. His research studies the optimal design of contracts and market mechanisms in the presence of information asymmetries, most recently focusing on the evaluation of forecasters, financial analysts, and other experts. His work has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Review of Economic Studies.
Professor Said teaches “Firms and Markets” in Stern’s full-time and Executive MBA cores. His teaching was recognized with the Stern Distinguished Teaching Award; he has also been voted Stern MBA “Professor of the Year” and named to the Poets&Quants “Best 40 Under 40” list.
Before joining NYU Stern in 2014, Professor Said worked as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, and earlier as a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research New England. He earned his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from New York University and his Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.
