Tensie Whelan, Director
Tensie Whelan (NYU ‘80), Distinguished Professor of Practice for Business and Society, is the Founding Director of the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she is bringing her 25 years of experience working on local, national and international environmental and sustainability issues to engage businesses in proactive and innovative mainstreaming of sustainability.
Anna Bailey Doyle, Administrative Aide
Alison Berg, Associate Director of Communications
Alison Berg is the Associate Director of Communications for the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she leads communications strategy, manages stakeholder outreach, and supports public event programming.
Divya Chandra, Senior Associate Research Scholar
Divya Chandra is a Senior Associate Research Scholar at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, and is developing and executing monetization methods used in the application of the ROSI methodology across a diverse set of Industries.
Elyse Douglas, Senior Research Scholar
Elyse Douglas (Stern ‘83) is a Senior Research Scholar at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business and has responsibility for monetization methods used in the application of the ROSI methodology.
Chisara Ehiemere, Senior Research Lead of Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI)
Chisara Ehiemere is the Senior Research Lead, Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI™) at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she oversees our ROSI methodology research partnerships with companies.
Maggie Hutchison, Associate Director, Operations
Maggie Hutchison is the Associate Director of Operations for Stern’s Center for Sustainable Business where she manages the CSB budget and grant reporting, administers strategic plans and KPI tracking, leads the database and information systems management, and oversees staff management.
Aishwarya Jadhav, Associate Research Scholar
Aishwarya Jadhav is an Associate Research Scholar at the Center for Sustainable, where she focuses on developing and implementing monetization methods within the framework of the Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) methodology across a wide range of industries.
Claire Kells, Associate Director, Development and Events
Claire Kells is the Associate Director of Development and Events for the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she develops and executes the Center’s strategic fundraising initiatives and events.
Marianna Koval, Director of Invest NYC SDG Initiative
Marianna Koval is the Director of the Invest NYC SDG Initiative at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she manages a team engaging in the private sector to drive financing toward creating a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient New York City. Using the UN SDGs as a guiding framework, the team is developing investable projects to advance NYC’s sustainability goals in waste, food and health, climate resilience, renewable energy, the built environment, and sustainable mobility.
Randi Kronthal-Sacco, Senior Scholar of Marketing & Corporate Outreach
Randi Kronthal-Sacco (Stern ‘83) is a Senior Scholar of Marketing and Corporate Outreach at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business. Ms. Kronthal-Sacco leads CSB’s research in the areas of marketing and brands including the Sustainability Market Share Index™ and is responsible for corporate outreach.
Mariah Maldonado, Assistant Director
Mariah Maldonado is the Assistant Director for the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she provides a high level of strategic, logistical and operational assistance to the leadership of the CSB and manages planning for events, conferences and programs for student educational and career development activities.
Abigail Talcott-Schlaifer, Managing Director
Abigail Talcott-Schlaifer is the Managing Director for the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she has responsibilities across the management of CSB, oversees curriculum development and student programming, cultivates and maintains relationships across internal and external constituencies, and provides high level strategic and logistical support to the Executive Director.
Beverly Teng, Assistant Research Scholar
Beverly Teng is an Assistant Research Scholar at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she supports CSB’s Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) research and company engagements.
Anne-Laure White, Associate Research Scholar
Anne-Laure White is an Associate Research Scholar on the M.A.P. NYC Project, where she is working closely with growers and stakeholders across the supply chain to create a comprehensive urban agricultural census and investigate challenges and possibilities for New York City food production.
CSB STUDENT STAFF
Ozy Arfi (MBA, '24), ESG Research Assistant
Ozy is working with data to analyze and report on the ESG Credentials of Fortune 100 Board Members. He reviews these organizations 10K Reports and other disclosures to understand if today's board members are qualified to tackle the growing importance of ESG issues.
Alan Fang (BS '25), Invest NYC SDG Research Assistant
Alan joined the Invest NYC SDG Initiative in September 2021 to support our food and health work and since January 2022 he has conducted research for the FoodMap NY project. He is a sophomore undergraduate student pursuing a BS in Business with co-concentrations in finance and sustainable business.
Julie Hanash (MBA ‘23), Invest NYC SDG Research Assistant
Julie joined the Invest NYC SDG Initiative in September 2022 to support the FoodMap NY project. She is a second year, full time MBA candidate specializing in global business, strategy, and sustainable business & innovation. Prior to Stern, she worked at the Business Council for International Understanding, helping to shape sustainable infrastructure development programs in emerging markets. She received a BA in Global Studies and Political Science from UCLA.
Sherry Hu (BS '26), Sustainability Marketing Research Assistant
Sherry is working with data to analyze and report on actual CPG (consumer packaged goods) sustainable purchases at retail. She updates the database to identify new sustainable skus in the last two years and utilizes it to report on shares, trends and growth of sustainable products.
Saahil Jain (MS ‘24), Invest NYC SDG Graduate Research Assistant
Saahil joined the Invest NYC SDG Initiative in January 2023 to support the LL97-PACE data tool. He is a first year, full time MS in Data Science candidate at NYU Tandon. Prior to NYU, Saahil was a software engineer. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from PES University.
Justin Kono (MBA ‘24), Invest NYC SDG Graduate Fellow
Justin joined the Invest NYC SDG Initiative in September 2022 to provide support in developing and executing on a strategy to spur the decarbonization of NYC buildings with PACE financing. He is a second year, full time MBA candidate specializing in finance and entrepreneurship. Prior to Stern, he was a senior loan officer at Caliber Home Loans for 5 years. He received a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
Nora Landis-Shack (MA ‘25), Invest NYC SDG Graduate Fellow
Nora joined the Invest NYC SDG initiative in January 2023 to support the FoodMap NY project. She is a second year, part time graduate student at Steinhardt in the Food Studies program, where she is focusing on the intersection of public health and food policy. She has worked extensively in the nonprofit and research fields for over a decade, which has shaped her current areas of interest. She received her MPH from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health and her BS from Haverford College.
Inti Robinson Campbell (BA ‘24), Invest NYC SDG Research Assistant
Inti is a rising fourth-year undergraduate student at NYU's College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a joint degree in Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Global Liberal Studies. Inti has been involved with programs centered around sustainable economic development during his time at NYU and hopes to pursue a career in consulting and policymaking, ultimately contributing to the construction of a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable world for all.
Sevastian Sanchez (BA ‘24), Invest NYC SDG Research Assistant
Sevastian is a rising fourth-year undergraduate student studying international relations and public policy and analysis at NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences and is on track to earn an MPA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy as a part of a dual-degree program with NYU Wagner. Sevastian has been engaged in human rights and climate/environmental advocacy and has worked under members of congress. He hopes to pursue a career in sustainable energy development and foreign policy research.
Alicia Xu (BS ‘23), Sustainability Marketing Research Assistant
Alicia is working on the 3rd phase of the CSB Sustainability Market Share Index, an in-depth analysis of consumer purchases of products that are marketed for their sustainable attributes. Alicia works with IRI data to analyze and report on actual CPG (consumer packaged goods) sustainable purchases at retail.
